Candida Drug Treatments
There are several drugs out on the market that can be used to treat candidiasis. It may be better for you use nutritional options first, as this will treat the root cause of the problem. Always speak with your doctor before beginning any treatment program, whether with drugs or through nutrition.
Nystatin (also Nilstat and Mycostatin): This drug ruptures the cell walls of the yeast. However, there can be serious side effects, including a weakened immune system, depression, anxiety, insomnia and organ damage.
Ketoconazole and Nizoral: These are antifungal drugs that works well while they are taken. However, stopping them can cause a return of candidiasis. Both can also cause liver damage.
