Candida Diet Tips

Treating candidiasis with diet is always a good place to start. Many people have experienced great results and relief from symptoms by simply changing their diets. Here are some quick diet tips. For more complete natural and nutritional treatment options, check out our list of recommended candida treatment programs.

1. Limit foods with high sugar content
Yeast thrive on sugar, so the first thing to do is limit the amount of high-sugar foods from your diet. This is probably the single most important treatment for candidiasis. If you are used to eating high-sugar foods, this may also be the most difficult change to make. Note that this includes limiting foods that contain refined flour, such as breads, pretzels and crackers. Citrus fruits and fruit juices are often high in sugar as well.

2. Limit fermented, yeast and mold containing foods
This includes alcoholic beverages, breads and cheeses. Also, stay away from peanuts, as these often contain a type of mold called aflatoxin.

3. Include lot of whole grain foods and protein-rich foods
These include fruit (especially berries), vegetables, brown rice, beans and legumes (in small amounts), fish, chicken, turkey and eggs.
